Youth Group

Youth group is the name we have for our offerings for those in grades 7-12. Sunday's from 10:10–11 a.m. is our formation time, where we help our young people learn more about God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit as well as a place for young people to explore and deepen their faith.

Youth group AC (after church) is our fellowship time with each other. These are offered the second and fourth Sunday of the month from 1-3 p.m. We usually go "off campus" on the second Sunday and stay at Trinity on the fourth Sunday. Our outings have included laser tag, miniature golf, ropes courses and pizza. We have also baked dog treats for our Blessing of the Animals service and created a standing mailbox for the Marion-Sterling pen pal program. You can find out more information on the upcoming outing events at bit.ly/YGOuting.

Eric is an enthusiastic, faithful, and deeply experienced youth and children’s minister who has served multiple dioceses and congregations. As a congregational youth and young adult minister, he has served churches in Springfield, MO, the Chicago suburb of Lake Forest, IL, and most recently Greenville, SC, where he currently lives. His diocesan work includes serving as the Canon for Youth Ministry in the Episcopal Diocese of Central New York, and twelve years as the Missioner for Youth and Young Audits in the Episcopal Diocese of Michigan.

He has played every role you can imagine, from teaching Sunday school for 3-5th graders to training youth ministry volunteers from across the 72-church diocese of Michigan. He has worked for the full inclusion of LGBTQ+ youth in local, diocesan, and national gatherings, he has created innovative youth confirmation programs and he is a leader in developing the nationwide Safe Church Guidelines that empower us to care for all who are involved in this life-giving ministry.
