Welcome Shiloh Roby – New Music Director
Dear Friends, It is my great pleasure to announce that I have called Shiloh Roby to serve as Trinity Cathedral’s Director of Music. Shiloh currently serves as the Associate Director of Music at Christ Church Cathedral in Cincinnati, Ohio, and comes to Trinity with a great depth of cathedral ministry. At Christ Church Cathedral Shiloh has supported the Music Ministry in all aspects of liturgical leadership, while leading and greatly expanding their Music Live @ Lunch Series. Shiloh will begin work at Trinity on March 4th, with his first Evensong on March 6th and his first Sunday on March 10th. Shiloh is an energetic and compassionate musician with fluency in both the Anglican Choral tradition and the expansive canon of the Episcopal church. He is committed to seeing the church be a player in the work of justice and peace, and has a gift for making strong connections in the wider community. He is a skilled organist who served as an organ scholar in two English Cathedrals, as well as a great keyboardist and a committed church musician. In addition he is an experienced fundraiser, a creative concert organizer, and even a banjo player. I am thrilled to have Shiloh help us to carry out Trinity’s vision to be a sacred place to all people. Through his musical leadership, Trinity will continue to offer transcendent music and liturgy in the Anglican tradition, while also helping us create a space for voices that reflect the expansive and beautiful vernacular of our faithful community. I am tremendously grateful for the search committee that so skillfully walked us through this discernment process. I thank Cliff Hill, Aretha McCreary, Karla Rivers, Bob Smith and Ute Vilfroy for their wisdom and grace, and our co-chairs Beth Billings and Patty Roberts for their vision and leadership throughout this process. Faithfully, |
The Very Rev. Bernard J Owens Dean |
