Thank you, Corinne Wallner

Dear Friends,

One of the richest blessings of cathedral ministry is the opportunity to work closely with people who bring great skill and faithfulness to the stewardship of our cathedral building and our congregation. Through their work, I am reminded that faithfulness is very much a core value of Trinity, and I am encouraged to know that Trinity draws such committed and skilled people to offer leadership.

With deep gratitude, our congregation will say a partial farewell to Corinne Wallner, Trinity’s Facilities Director, who has accepted a new position as Director of Events at St. Ignatius High School in Ohio City.

Though I am sad to learn of her departure from the staff, I am thrilled that she will remain at Trinity as a member. It is never easy to lose such a valued staff member, but we celebrate the discernment leading our colleagues to new chapters in their vocational lives.

In my nearly five years at Trinity Cathedral, I have seen how Corinne has been a faithful and ever-present part of this community. When the Bishop or the diocese hosted a large event, Corinne has been there. When there’s a big project – from exterior masonry to replacing the sound system, Corinne has been there. When the pipes burst in the middle of the night in the days after Christmas, Corinne was there, leading the immediate response and guiding the ultimate repair.

Corinne shows in all she does a deep love for this community and the sacred cathedral building that is our shared responsibility: she leaves her staff position with the physical plant in far greater shape than when she took the job, despite snow and wind and anything else Northeast Ohio threw at the building. Corinne’s final day will be September 17, though she will assist with a number of special events through the end of the year.

I am working with the Executive Committee – vestry wardens, treasurer, and other members – to establish interim management and new leadership of our facilities team. Please keep the process in your prayers.

We are also eagerly anticipating another staff announcement for the role of Director of Development and Community Programming. Thank you for your patience and prayers as as our staff navigates through all of these transitions.

Please join me in thanking Corinne and in celebrating her skill and faithfulness.
