Sacraments

Life is full of significant moments and milestones, both joyous and solemn. Among these moments are those considered sacraments. A sacrament is a Christian rite that is recognized as being particularly important and significant. Through sacraments and sacramental rites we participate in God’s graceful and tangible presence in our lives. Our Anglican tradition recognizes sacraments as “outward and visible signs of inward and spiritual grace.” Among these sacraments are baptism, weddings, and funerals. These moments of passage are steps in our journey to wholeness and faith.

Walk Together Through Grief

We believe that, for God’s faithful, in death “life is changed, not ended” and that funerals are both a celebration of the Easter promise and a time to walk together through grief and loss. It is an honor for the Trinity community to accompany people during times of loss and to offer a place of hospitality and welcome.

Episcopal funeral and memorial services are based on the order of service in the Book of Common Prayer, which says; “the liturgy for the dead is an Easter liturgy. It finds all its meaning in the resurrection. Because Jesus was raised from the dead, we too, shall be raised.”

Initiation By Water

In the waters of baptism, we are lovingly adopted by God into God’s family, which we call the Church, and given God’s own life to share and reminded that nothing can separate us from God’s love in Christ. Holy Baptism marks a formal entrance to the congregation and wider Church (1).

Adults, children, and Infants are all eligible for baptism at Trinity. Baptisms can take place throughout the year but principally take place on four feast days (or holidays) that celebrate our baptismal life: All Saints’ Sunday, The Baptism of Our Lord, The Great Vigil of Easter and Pentecost.
