Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their wine increased.

Psalm 4:7

What is a Pledge?

A pledge is a promise – a promise to make a financial gift that supports the mission of Trinity Cathedral over the course of the following year. Pledging is a response to God’s call to each of us, and a response to the abundance of God’s blessing in our own lives: it is a statement of thanksgiving.

Giving generously and proportionally is a core Christian practice that deepens our relationships with God and with our community.

Why do we Pledge?

Pledging before the start of each calendar year is critical for vestry and staff to develop an annual budget and plan to serve you and our wider community. Annual pledges supports all that we do — from paying clergy to supporting our outreach ministries to paying the electric bill. In order to know what we can do each year, we need to receive pledge commitments on which to develop an annual budget.

We don’t expect you to fulfill your pledge in one lump gift. Many find they can give more when pledging and then giving incrementally over the course of the year.

How Do I Pledge?

We run a pledge campaign each fall. However, pledges are welcome throughout the year.

You may fulfill your pledge in as many payments as you wish throughout the year.

Pledges can be made by bringing a pledge card to church, mailing it, or making a pledge online.

You may also make a gifts of stock, financial securities, or through a donor-advised fund. To make a gift of stock in payment of a pledge, or for all other questions, contact Controller, Dan Hout-Reilly.
