God’s Liberating Justice

This promise that all Episcopalians make is at the very heart Trinity’s commitment to proclaim, in word and action, the life-changing love and liberating justice of God. Trinity values integrity and impact in its justice programming through the faithful work of the Peace, Justice, and Mercy mission team. The church works to proclaim God’s Good News as we celebrate God’s profound love for all creation.

Q: Will you strive for peace and justice among all people, and respect the dignity of every human being?

A: I will, with God’s help.

-The Baptismal Covenant, The Book of Common Prayer

Racial Reconciliation

Christian faith calls us to disrupt and dismantle systems of violence and inequity. Guided by our core values of integrity and dignity, Trinity Cathedral is committed to the inward and outward work of racial reconciliation. From preaching and worship to programmatic offerings, from statements by the Dean to offerings created by the Episcopal Church, Trinity seeks to be a gathering place of The Beloved Community. We acknowledge that we have much work to do, while giving thanks for the God’s healing spirit in our midst today.

Creation Care

From Creation Care to eco-justice, Trinity expresses gratitude for God’s gift of creation by delighting in it, and by working to protect and preserve it. In our liturgy, we celebrate creation and name our responsibility to make it a gift that serves all people. In care of our facilities, sustainability is an essential part of stewardship. Trinity’s Creation Care team is dedicated to the health and welfare of God’s creation, and offers regular opportunities to encounter God through the cathedral of nature.

Greater Cleveland Congregations

Trinity Cathedral is a founding member of Greater Cleveland Congregations (GCC), a nonpartisan community organization that unites people across lines of race, class, religion, and geography to take actions that strengthen and improve the quality of life of our neighborhoods. Through GCC, Trinity joins more than 30 area faith communities and nonprofits in actions and campaigns that range from criminal justice reform, healthcare equity, voting rights and gun safety. Trinity’s Neighborhood Partnerships Mission Team works closely with the Central Neighborhood organizer.

Episcopal Peace Fellowship

Founded in the 1930’s, the ministry of the Episcopal Peace Fellowship (EPF) is as necessary today as it was 80 years ago: to be faithful peacemakers, engaged in social justice advocacy as the hands and feet of Jesus. Trinity members and friends participate actively in the Diocesan chapter of EPF, and work to address issues issues such as human trafficking, war and the death penalty through education and advocacy.
