Membership

All are welcome at Trinity Cathedral, a community of discipleship, diversity, and service, where young and old, newcomers and long-time members are on the journey of faith together.

Anyone who has received the sacrament of Holy Baptism is a member of the universal Church. Our participation in the wider body of Christ is our first commitment, and we welcome all to be regular participants in the worship, companionship and life of Trinity.

If you wish to become a formal member of Trinity Cathedral, the canons (rules) of the Episcopal Church provide several ways to do this. Indeed, we hope you will consider doing so, because the more one integrates their whole life into a community of Christian discipleship, the more they will experience the breadth of our faith tradition.

  1. You may be baptized here.
  2. If you were baptized at or you hold your membership at another Episcopal Church, you can simply contact our church office and ask to transfer your “letter of membership” to Trinity Cathedral. We will take it from there: we will contact your church of origin and transfer your membership here. You can contact Ginger Bitikofer.
  3. If you were baptized in another Christian tradition (Methodist, Presbyterian, Roman Catholic, etc.) then simply let us know when and where you were baptized (if you know) and that you desire to become a member. We will follow up with your former church, if possible. Contact Ginger Bitikofer she will begin the process.

If you come from another Christian tradition, you may choose to be received or confirmed by a bishop. We hope you will learn about the church through confirmation classes held on a regular basis. Our bishop visits Trinity regularly for confirmation; in fact, Trinity is the bishop’s church home. Please contact Adrienne Koch for more information.
