Time and Talent

Stewardship is a divinely-inspired balance between receiving and giving--of money, but also of time and talents. We have not bargained for, earned or purchased these gifts; they are simply part of the way we receive God's love.

Paul wrote to the Christians in Rome about God's requirement to present themselves as "living sacrifices." He meant that giving money by itself is insufficient if it is not accompanied by our hearts, the whole of our beings. When our hearts become truly committed to God, we become fully committed to doing as much as we can to serve God and God's children. And in serving, we recieve abundantly.
