Christina Monreal

Canon for Administration

Photo of Canon Christina Monreal, Trinity Cathedral, Cleveland Tina Monreal has been a part of the staff at Trinity Cathedral since 1975, when the Cathedral's dean was the Very Rev. Perry Williams and the Bishop of Ohio was the Rt. Rev. John Burt. As Canon Administrator, she oversees the business, financial, human resource and building operations of the Cathedral. Tina was the in-house project coordinator for the construction of Trinity Commons.

During her first fifteen years of employment, Tina lived in an apartment at Trinity. At various times, she has shoveled snow, rung the church bell from the rope that hung down between the sink and the toilet in her bathroom, raised and lowered the American flag (for twelve years!), prepared the Annual Meeting luncheons using her personal recipes, and served as wedding coordinator.

Tina was the recipient of the Bishop's Medal in 2002, and served in leadership positions on the committees for the consecrations of Bishops James Moodey, Arthur Williams, Clark Grew and Mark Hollingsworth. She co-chaired the Diocesan Transition Committee in 2003-2004, which included farewell events for Bishop Grew and the search, election, transition and consecration for Bishop Hollingsworth. She has also led many training workshops and vestry retreats in the Diocese of Ohio and has worked in various roles at the Kenyon Summer Conference for many years.

Tina is married to Fred Monreal, and together they share a love of theatre, travel and watching baseball. Tina is an avid birdwatcher who keeps both a life list and a deck list, cataloging birds she has identified from the deck of the condominium in Brecksville where she and Fred live.
